Hope Cottage
St. John’s Westminster Union Church affirms its decision to transform the unused parsonage into Hope Cottage, a residence dedicated to enriching the broader community. Through a season of thoughtful exploration, our congregation recognized an opportunity to serve adults with developmental disabilities by offering them a welcoming home designed to support confident, self-directed living.
By pursuing grant funding to complete the necessary renovations, we commit ourselves to creating a warm and secure environment where four adults may live together with independence, companionship, and stability. This decision reflects our belief in nurturing human dignity, fostering a sense of belonging, and extending the mission of Christ’s love beyond our sanctuary walls.
Hope Cottage stands as a testament to our shared purpose. It strengthens the fabric of our community by providing a place where individuals can flourish, neighbors can connect, and compassion can be lived out in visible and enduring ways.
