This fall has been full of fantastic events and meaningful activities, bringing our community together in wonderful ways.
Trunk or Treat was a huge success, with many creative and cute costumes making their way through the festivities. We had 125 children and 100 adults in attendance, and the weather was perfect for the occasion. The St. John’s Learning Center added to the fun with carnival games in Fellowship Hall. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who donated candy, decorated trunks, and volunteered. Thanks to your generosity, we were able to collect numerous canned goods to support families in need.
Our Operation Christmas Child collection for Samaritan’s Purse was extraordinary! We gathered 69 shoeboxes that will go on to share the Gospel with children around the world. A special thanks to the members and friends of SJWUC, as well as the families from the Learning Center, for their support.
To kick off the Advent season, we held our Hanging of the Greens event. It was a wonderful afternoon of fellowship, as both adults and kids enjoyed lunch together before decorating the church, preparing our hearts and space for the coming Christmas season.
Thanksgiving food baskets were distributed by Boy Scout Troop 288 and their parents, bringing Thanksgiving cheer to local families. We are deeply grateful for all the food donations, which ensured that families could enjoy turkey and all the fixings this holiday season.
Looking ahead to December, we are excited to deliver Christmas gifts to 18 children on Saturday, December 14. Thank you to everyone who has donated, ensuring that these children feel loved and cared for during this special time of year.
We are incredibly thankful for the continued support of our congregation and community, and we look forward to the many ways we will continue to share joy, love, and care in the coming months!
