“I am about to do a new thing.” (Isaiah 43:19)
A blog from the pastor. This is indeed a new thing – at least for me! Yes, I did a blog while on sabbatical as a way to share our travels with our church family, family and friends. But to take on regularly writing and reflecting on life and faith in this format is a new thing for me. I have colleagues and friends who blog and have found this a great way to hear in their words lessons they glean from their daily living, posing questions to ponder, points to consider.
My hope is to provide another viewing point to the life of faith. Not necessarily earth shaking or deeply profound, but something that will cause you (and me) to reflect, think critically, ask questions, see things from a different perspective, hear things in a different way. It may spring from something I’m reading or a life experience. I hope people who read this will share comments and questions and keep the discussion going with what they experience from their seat in the room. Sometimes this will come from my role as pastor, but more often it will probably come from my life as a fellow child of God and follower of Jesus.
As I begin this venture, I would encourage you to send questions or topics that you would like to see discussed. That is an standing invitation at any time. Feel free to forward the blog to friends or family when that day’s offering seems particularly relevant to their lives.
While I am about to do a new thing with this blog, God is always doing new things in our midst. I am constantly in wonder of the ways God is revealed in the lives of those around me. Hopefully some of those observations will make their way here as well.
I am looking forward to this new way to connect with you!
Peace,
Pastor Kathy
This is a curious new thing you are doing! I am very interested in seeing where this leads!
Congratulations on your new blog, Pastor Kathy!
